Reading’s Wellbeing Forum for the voluntary and community sector on Friday 14 July will explore partnership working between Reading’s voluntary and community organisations, the Reading Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) and Reading Borough Council to support and promote the health and wellbeing of people in Reading.
The main topics will be:
Working with health to support people with long term health conditions
We will hear from Eleanor Mitchell (Operations Director, South Reading CCG) and Sarah Bow (Transformation Lead, Long Term Conditions Berks West CCGs) about the work of the CCG Long Term Conditions Board. The discussions will focus on opportunities for joint working to support patients with diabetes and residents in residential care.
Money problems and mental wellbeing – Strengthening partnerships with the voluntary sector to support vulnerable people
Andrew Donachie and Jamie Webb (Reading Borough Council Welfare Reform and Debt Advice teams) will talk about linking with voluntary groups to support people to manage the gap in income created by the benefit cap. They will give an update on Universal Credit and the support offered by Reading Borough Council to individuals and voluntary organisations.
