Reading City of Sanctuary invites you to their interfaith communal event on Wednesday 21st February to talk about how faith communities are putting “faith into action” to ensure that Reading remains a welcoming place.

7.00 – 9.00 p.m.
Council Chambers, Reading Borough Council, Civic Offices, Bridge Street, Reading, RG1 2LU

A Call to Action

Refugees, asylum seekers fleeing persecution and violence and some vulnerable migrants are welcomed and supported to engage, feel safe and become part of the Reading Host Society.The Call to Action is based on the needs identified by support agencies in Reading:

  • What can you do to make them feel welcome and safe in Reading?
  • What practical action can you take to help facilitate their integration?

The event is supported by:

  • The Mayor of Reading – Councillor Rose Williams
  • The Bishop of Reading – Rt. Rev. Andrew Proud, Leaders and representatives from different faith communities in Reading

You are also welcome if you do not hold on to a faith but have an interest in humanitarian causes. It gives an opportunity to meet and talk to support services. Light Refreshments will be served
