The Trauma-Informed Reading Conference took place between 30 November and 7 December 2020
This year’s event successfully transitioned to a completely virtual format and included training, Q&A sessions and educational videos across 24 workshops. Colleagues from 37 organisations around the partnership booked onto 317 places, and 142 professionals took part.
Initial feedback from the conference has highlighted:
- That the conference was a valuable shared learning opportunity. Those new to trauma-informed practice were able to participate alongside more experienced practitioners.
- That professionals felt excited and motivated by the different trauma-informed journeys shared in the workshops.
- That the journey towards trauma-informed practice is a shared one. Professionals agreed on the importance of collaboration across the children, young people, families and adults workforce.
- That colleagues appreciated the opportunity to hear from the lived experiences of families and how a trauma-informed approach affected their experiences and outcomes.
