You probably know of the help and information provided by Citizens Advice Reading throughout the Reading area, but are you aware of their professional training services?
Over the past ten years, Citizens Advice Reading have become a trusted and established training provider, offering courses to a wide range of organisations both at their training facility in Reading and at clients’ own locations. This is a service which is regionally unique to Citizens Advice Reading and helps to support their charitable free advice service provided to everyone within the Reading area.
They have a professional team of trainers who have had many years of direct experience working in the advice sector and in human resource management. They have worked and trained in both charity and commercial organisations and are committed to providing up to date, relevant and practical training.
They run a regular course programme, covering a number of different subjects, such as Understanding Universal Credit, An Introduction to Welfare Benefits, Sickness and Disability Benefits, Housing and Homelessness Rights and Dealing with Difficult Clients. Their courses are aimed specifically at:
- front line workers who provide information and advice to clients;
- managers from all organisations who want to develop their skills in managing their staff more effectively; and
- any key workers wanting to gain specific knowledge to help in their day-to-day roles.
They also offer tailored and in-house courses for individual organisations needing group training for a specific audience. Training Services Manager, Jo Showell, is very happy to talk to you about your training needs, to see if they can develop a programme that directly meets your requirements.
Really enjoyed the training and found it very informative. Felt very comfortable asking the trainer questions and was super impressed with her extensive knowledge of all subjects.
