Befriending Networks are working hard to provide help and guidance to existing befriending organisations and to the thousands of new community groups that are springing up.
It’s hardly surprising that befriending has been identified as one of the top support needs, and Reading already has a number of schemes. RVA is liaising with these organisations regularly to keep up to date on their capacity for new referrals.
It’s great to hear from so many people offering to help in a variety of ways, including befriending. As a new volunteer, you may have never been a befriender before and, with the current situation, unable to attend volunteer training.
