Introductory sessions in restorative practice open to all those working with children, young people and their families in the Reading area
There is national and regional evidence that restorative approaches significantly improve outcomes for children and the quality and consistency of professional practice across the workforce. We’re excited to be part of the NHS England Restorative Practice partnership programme which also forms part of the One Reading early intervention partnership aspiration to become a trauma-informed community.
A programme of free introductory sessions in May and June – open to all those working with children, young people and their families in the Reading area – will introduce participants to the restorative approach, as a way of being, as well as additional tools to complement your existing approach. The sessions will outline what a restorative culture looks like in an organisation working with children and families, and will give an overview of the principles and practice. Examples will be shared of other organisations which have created a restorative culture and the positive impact of this.
