The contact arrangements for accessing Early Help and Safeguarding support for children have just changed. The new ‘Children’s Single Point of Access’ (CSPA) will be the place to refer for all Child Protection, Early Help, and Disabled Children’s Services.

Access will be via:

The contact number for the out-of-hours Emergency Duty Team remains the same (01344 786543).

You can download the CSPA Guidance document for practitioners from www.rcvys.org.uk/download/childrens-single-point-access-guidance-document/

Organisations will need to change their Children’s Safeguarding documents to ensure that they reflect the new arrangements.

With this new information we will be updating our ‘Important Contact Details’ Sheet, which will also include the details for the whole of Berkshire. We will circulate this in the next few days.

The Thresholds documents, which are handed out as part of the Universal Safeguarding Children Training, and Designated Persons Safeguarding Training, will be changed, and we will also circulate the new copies. These changes should only affect the process, rather than the different levels – however, it is important that you familiarise yourselves with these when they come out.

If you have any questions, or you experience any problems with the new system, please do not hesitate to contact me at ben@rcvys.org.uk or on 07872 958501.
