With the current situation regarding Covid-19 (Coronavirus) changing daily, Befriending Networks have been updating their advice and guidelines in relation to befriending on their website and via their social media.

It’s likely that by now, most of you will have contacted your befrienders and befriendees and implemented alternative arrangements to stay in touch with people to replace face-to-face and group activities.  For those of you who are introducing telephone befriending for the first time, Befriending Networks have been updating their advice and guidelines in relation to befriending on their website and via has produced a resource which can be downloaded here giving some tips and advice on things to consider.

If you are already delivering befriending services in Reading, attached is an Example of email to volunteers re Coronavirus from Emily at Time To Talk Befriending, which she sent to everyone involved in their large befriending project.  Emily kindly agreed to share this.
