At the Wellbeing Forum in July we heard from Kam Purewall and Sarah Bow from Berkshire West Clinical Commissioning Groups’ Long Term Conditions Programme Board and explored how voluntary organisations could support people who are living in residential care homes.

Some local organisations already run lunch clubs and social activities which are open to residents and non-residents which add to any activities run by the care homes.  The CCGs are keen to build on these initiatives  and support care homes in accessing services/activities to keep residents physically and mentally active.

Care homes do not always know what voluntary organisations can offer. A new resource for care home providers in Berkshire West seeks to overcome this barrier.  Have a look at the website.
