Thank you to all of you who have sent me ‘Spotlight on the Voluntary Sector’ articles for GP Headline News. This is a great way for GPs to learn more about how voluntary and community organisations are supporting the health and wellbeing of people in Reading.

A reminder for you….

We have the opportunity to promote voluntary sector services directly to Reading’s GPs via their weekly electronic newsletter. Each week we can include a short item about a specific service or event which helps to maintain and improve people’s health and wellbeing.

As we move into September, you may be starting new programmes and activities which you would like GPs to know about. Examples could be a support group for people with a long-term health condition, activities to reduce loneliness and isolation, or sessions you offer to encourage people to be more active.

The key is to tell GPs about how your services/activities can improve the wellbeing of their patients. Send a very brief article (one paragraph), which can include links to further information, to sarah.morland@rva.org.uk. If there is a specific event that you would like highlighted, please let me know so we can ensure it is included in good time.
