Here is one of the updates from the latest newsletter:
The Veterans Trauma Network is a recently launched service for patients with service-related traumatic injuries and conditions. The Network provides specialist care to veterans with service-specific traumatic injuries. Veterans benefit from a personalised care plan implemented by top military and civilian trauma experts. The needs of veterans’ families and carers are also taken into consideration.
The network is the result of a partnership between the NHS, MOD, Blesma, Blind Veterans UK and Style for Soldiers, and it was developed following feedback from veterans, their families and GPs.
The network operates 10 centres across England in eight major cities and will serve as a regional hub for veteran care, including mental health services, national centres of expertise and major service charities. There is an online video you can watch to find out more about the Veterans Trauma Network.
Referrals can be made via your GP or via Blesma (an Armed Forces charity) by either emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 0208 548 7080.
