RVA’s Partnership Manager Sarah Morland took part in the Thames Path Challenge this Saturday, walking 50km to raise funds for Daisy’s Dream. Sarah’s Just Giving page chronicles her training, including her two-and-a-half-hour walks home after long days in the RVA office!
After months of preparations, Sarah completed the demanding walk from Runnymede to Henley in just over 9 hours, finishing ‘with only one small blister and very achy legs’. ‘The last 5km were most challenging’ said Sarah, but the lovely friends I was walking with kept me motivated’.
Sarah has been volunteering for Daisy’s Dream for 17 years and wanted to do something to help mark their 21st anniversary this year. The charity supports children and families, throughout Berkshire, facing and following bereavement. ‘Daisy’s Dream is a great organisation which helps families when they really need it’, said Sarah.
Congratulations on a wonderful achievement Sarah, from everyone at RVA!
