RVA’s new Befriender Match service

Primary interest
Volunteering

RVA has just launched an online Befriender Match service which is available to all befriending organisations in Reading. You can now fill out our Befriender Match online form for any of your clients, members or beneficiaries who would like to be matched with a volunteer.

By doing this, your beneficiaries will have a bespoke but anonymous advert which reaches more people who are looking to volunteer as a befriender. Volunteers living in their local area and sharing their interests are more likely to come forward and it also helps us know which areas of Reading you are seeking volunteers in, so we can offer more targeted social media promotion of these opportunities.

In order to use Befriender Match, you must have a generic befriender opportunity up on our volunteer page. You can check if you have a live opportunity here.  and if not, you can fill one out here.  If you think you have had an opportunity listed with us before that isn’t currently live, just let us know and we can reactivate the old opportunity, once we have checked the details are still up to date.

As we trial the Befriender Match service, your feedback on the form and the effectiveness of the adverts as a means of recruitment is welcome – just email ready.friends@rva.org.uk. The webpage will go live once we have a few opportunities to populate it with. Happy posting – the more organisations that use the Befriender Match service, the more successful it will be!
