RBC community buildings transition fund deadline extended

Reading Borough Council have agreed that a small fund be made available for local groups that have a responsibility for managing a building in Reading to support capacity building and sustainability. The fund has been under subscribed and the deadline for applications has been extended to 20 June.

Funding available

The sum of £20,000 in 2016/17 and £13,000 in 2017/18 is set aside to allow bids for any third sector organisation to apply for funds according to specified criteria.

Grants of up to £500 will be available to support the costs of capacity building for the management committee e.g. training on governance, health and safety responsibility, business planning. The funding may be appropriate in some circumstances for RVA’s Health and Safety service.

Grants of up to £1,000 over a 2 year period to pilot activities that will contribute to business planning, based on a 50/50 matched contribution in year one, with a 50% funding reduction in year 2.

Grants Criteria

Priority will be given to centres located in a geographical area that is in the top 20% of multiple deprivation indices.
