Next week is national Volunteers’ Week, celebrating and saying thank you for the contribution which millions of volunteers make across the UK. There is certainly plenty to celebrate here in Reading!
Reading Volunteer Awards
RVA is excited to be hosting the third annual Reading Volunteer Awards on Thursday 6 June in the Roost at Thames Tower. Organisations across the town have nominated volunteers in categories ranging from Community Ambassador to Sports Champion to Can’t Do Without. You can read about last year’s award winners here. Look out for interviews with this year’s nominees, which will be up on the website next week.
Exhibition in the Holy Brook Gallery, Reading Central Library
For Volunteers’ Week, RVA is also mounting an exhibition about what volunteering means to the town, which has been put together with the help of artist (and volunteer) Kate Shorey. Take a look from Tuesday 4 June to Saturday 8 June, during Library opening hours.
Tell us what volunteering means to you using #VolunteerRDG on Twitter, or stop by the exhibition and fill out one of our postcards.
