The Nationwide Community Grants is a new funding initiative by Nationwide Building Society to help tackle the Housing Crisis in Central England.
Grants of up to £50,000 are available to support charities that help vulnerable people with their housing needs (Berkshire is included in the Central region, so organisations in Reading, Bracknell Forest, Slough, West Berkshire, Windsor and Maidenhead and Wokingham are eligible to apply).
The programme has £22 million available to award over a five year period and is looking for local housing projects that will strengthen your local community by supporting the most vulnerable, find new approaches to increasing the supply of housing, or by reinventing renting for both tenants and landlords.
Heart of England Community Foundation (HoECF) are managing the grants programme and information, guidelines and how to apply can be found on their website.
To discuss an application, please call Heart of England Community Foundation on 024 7688 3297. HoECF will be holding two phone-in Funding Surgeries where potential applicants can speak with a grants officer about their funding needs. The two phone-ins will be held on:
- Wednesday 14 November from 10 am to 12 noon
- Wednesday 28 November from 10 am to 12 noon
