RVA is co-hosting a Mental Health Forum in partnership with the Thames Valley Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and Berkshire Community Foundation (BCF) to explore what can be done locally to support those with mental health problems.
If your organisation is working with, or plans to offer services to, those experiencing mental health problems, do join us to contribute your ideas and learn about what funding opportunities are available.
10 am – Registration and refreshments
10.15 – Speaker 1 – Joanna Birrell, Thames Valley Berkshire LEP
Joanna will give an introduction to European Social Funding and the role of the LEP. There is potential for funding in the region of £1,102,590 for organisations who are assisting job seekers and inactive people, including the long term unemployed and people far from the labour market, back into employment. One proposal is that the priority for this should be to support individuals with a mental health condition into work or training. The LEP are keen to understand more about what programmes are running locally and how to build on best practice.
11.30 – Speaker 2 – Jim Fyfe/ Terri Kearsey, Berkshire Community Foundation
Jim and Terri will provide an update on the current mental health funding round which is open for applications of initial interest until 30 October. They will also be available for 1-2-1 slots following the presentation so that you can canvas your project with them, so come prepared with your ideas and proposed project plans. They will not be able to give you a definitive answer but can advise on whether you should proceed or any areas where further support is needed through RVA or themselves to fine tune your proposal.
Funding is available for minor projects (up to £10,000) and major projects (up to £20,000). The two stage process will lead to a shortlist of six projects being selected, to present at a ‘Pitch to the Panel’ event in March 2018. More info here
12 noon – Forum closes
12noon – 3pm: 1-2-1 sessions with BCF (20 minute slots)
To find out more or to book your place for either the forum and/or the 1-2-1 slots please contact Herjeet on email@example.com. Priority will be given to organisations working with or towards supporting individuals with mental health problems.
