Tilehurst Together is a new project which aims to bring together local people to support each other, building on a gap identified through Reading Voluntary Action’s Social Prescribing service. It is funded by the Longleigh Foundation through the Berkshire Community Foundation’s Life Less Lonely grants programme.

Cat MacLeod has recently started in her new role of Project Co-ordinator, and has been busy planning the first few sessions and meeting with local organisations and community groups to promote the group, and explore opportunities to work together in the future.

Starting in June, those referred to the group will be invited to meet fortnightly in Tilehurst. The first two sessions will be an opportunity for people interested in the group to drop in and meet the team, find out more about what the group has to offer, and get to know one another.

Future meetings include an art session with Lisa-Marie from the Engine Room, and sessions with The Sunday Assembly. Tai Chi and Mindfulness tasters and a walking group are all on the horizon!
