Launch of the Southcote Community Hub

The official launch of the newly refurbished Southcote Community Hub will take place on Tuesday 30 October at 11am.

Following some significant enhancements to the community centre, including an extension to the building to incorporate the library, a new kitchen, and replacement flooring in the main hall, we are inviting the community to view the site and groups and services using the facility at Coronation Square.

The Mayor of Reading, Councillor Debs Edwards, will be opening the event at 11am, and there will be a tour of the building. There will be further tours at 2pm and 6pm for those who cannot attend the official opening at 11am. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to show what is on offer – from the Library, Children’s Centre, and Day Nursery, to community meeting spaces, a community café, and much more.

This event is open to all. If you would like to attend, please RSVP to Neighbourhoodinitiatives@reading.gov.uk. Following the opening of the Hub, we will be getting together to discuss how we can make the best possible use of the Hub – if you are unable to attend the official opening but interested in coming to a special networking meeting to discuss this, please also respond using the email Neighbourhoodinitiatives@reading.gov.uk.
