Why is prevention so crucial?

Abuse, neglect and other Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) often travel from generation to generation – not because people are bad, but because they don’t get enough support. At least half the children in an average classroom will suffer ACEs. The Wave Trust 

On Tuesday 2 April, Linda Davies and Rosemary Croft, two Wave Trust Ambassadors, will be leading discussions on Trauma Informed Communities and showing the film Resilience.

The film shows how ACEs predict a vulnerability to a host of future problems, and that resilience can protect against this. Discussion afterwards will focus on what we can do to build this protection and help Reading to become a Trauma Informed Community.

This event will be in the Conference Room on the Third Floor of Reading Central Library, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
