On Friday 10 February I attended a conference organised by Utulivu and ACRE (Alliance for Cohesion and Racial Equality) as part of the Zero Tolerance World FGM Day. Understanding & Working with FGM survivors to END IT brought together agencies and professionals to talk about how they address Female Genital Mutilation cases, support a survivors and work with communities to help discourage the practice.

Find out more about ACRE’s work to prevent FGM, to support survivors and those at potential risk, as well as plans to develop the Rose Centre in Reading.

Watch this powerful video clip Sara’s Story, which provides information on the causes and possible impacts of Female Genital Mutilation (the film does not include any graphic or real life images of FGM).
