RVA is collaborating with Redkite Training to provide a half-day Fire Marshal training session for Reading-based voluntary and community groups and charities. This training is a key element of good Health and Safety practices and will ensure that you are able to keep your service users, members, volunteers and staff safe in the event of a fire. This course is ideal for all groups, whether you have your own building or you hire a space from which to run your activities.
The course will cover:
This course covers basic theory and practical training for those staff or volunteers whose remit it is to help evacuate your people quickly and safely in cases of emergency. In legal terms a ‘competent person’.
Fire Marshals receive theory training on the current legislation pertaining to fire safety. The types and colour coding of extinguishers, classifying fires and informing the fire brigade. We give hands on training of water, foam and CO2 fire extinguishers and fire blankets. Most importantly, training in how to ensure safe evacuations from your premises.Fire marshal training course includes

You will receive training course materials and a certificate upon completion of the course.
Cost and booking:
The course is provided by an external Fire Safety expert. We have managed to secure a reduced voluntary sector rate of £35 per participant.
The course fee includes tea and coffee.
