Thursday 12 June saw us saying our farewells to Richard Corbett, RVA’s Director since September 2010, and welcoming Rachel Spencer to her new role as our Chief Executive.

Later on, reflecting on his time with RVA, Richard summed up as follows:

I would just like to thank everyone especially the team at Reading Voluntary Action, our members and funders, for all the support I have received during my time as Director of RVA.

The last 4 years have been a time of change and challenge for both RVA and the wider sector. A period during which RVA has moved offices, helped to develop Healthwatch Reading and generally built on our strong history of community development and partnership working.

I am pleased to be handing over to Rachel Spencer who many of you will already know as RVA’s Advice Services Manager. I am sure that under Rachel’s leadership, RVA will go from strength to strength.

I wish Rachel, the RVA team and partners across Reading all the best for the future.
