Data Protection can seem like a daunting and complex area and you may have heard about the new General Data Protection Regulations coming into force next year, which will affect all organisations, this includes all charities, voluntary and community groups.
Don’t panic, help is at hand! Here are some steps your organisation/ group can start to take:
- Read our last article for an overview of GDPR – what is it and what will it mean for you?
- Read this free guide – How to prepare for GDPR – a 12 point plan courtesy of NCVO
- Attend a workshop. RVA are partnering with Databasix, who are experts in data management and the new reform, to provide a half day workshop designed for charities and community groups. You will leave the session with some practical tools and ideas for managing personal and sensitive data and feel confident that you are compliant with the current law and forthcoming changes.
You can find out more and book for the October workshop here. Places are limited to organisations that operate in Reading. If your organisation operates outside of Reading, please get in touch and we can place you on the waiting list.
