Consultation – Reading Your Way

Article date
12 December 2016
Primary interest

Reading Your Way is part of Together, a national charity working alongside people with mental health issues on their journey to leading fulfilling and independent lives. Reading Your Way offers one-to-one support, peer support, social and sporting activities, support groups and much more.

Reading Borough Council is seeking the views of service users and other stakeholders to understand:

  • the impact withdrawing funding from Reading Your Way will have
  • how the council can best support people with mental health problems, their carers and family members to access other community based mental health, social and welfare support services (including the new Reading Recovery College).

The consultation is open until Tuesday 28 February 2017 and the consultation response will be reported to the council’s Adult Social Care Children’s and Education Committee (ACE) on 20 March 2017.

The consultation survey is available online here

Please call 0118 937 2383 if you need support to understand or complete the survey, or to request a council officer to attend a group meeting to explain this proposal.
