Consultation on reshaping Homelessness Support Services

A consultation has been launched on a review of the services provided by Reading Borough Council for individuals who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

Homelessness Support Services are commissioned by Reading Borough Council to support rough sleepers, provide bed spaces for individuals and couples who are homeless and help prevent households becoming homeless.

Contracts with the providers of these services end in April 2018 and the council is looking to remodel the services so it can provide more flexible and innovative ways of helping those in need. At the same time, the council is looking to reduce the total budget for Homelessness Support Services to £1.25m, a 17 per cent saving.

Details of the consultation and a link to the online consultation form can be found on the council’s website at consult.reading.gov.uk/dens/homelessness-support-services/.

The deadline for responses is 31 March 2017.
