There have been announcements in the news this morning that the government intends to bring in tighter social distancing rules from Monday 14 September, restricting the number of people who can meet inside or outside to 6 individuals. As a charity you may be wondering if/how this will affect the running of your services.

It is not expected to apply to ‘Covid-19 secure workplaces’ and other exempted environments. It is unclear as yet if/how it may affect ‘community facilities’ for example if you are hiring a room in a community centre to run your activities. The current government guidance for safe use of multi-purpose community facilities can be found here.

Until we have more detailed guidance from the government, organisations running services in the community are advised to review their risk assessments and be ready to restrict numbers in some cases.

RVA will keep you posted as further guidance is made available from the government.
