Reading Community Learning Centre is celebrating International Women’s Day on Wednesday 21 of March 2018 by holding its Women’s Day celebrations from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm at Reading Community Learning Centre, 94 London St, Reading RG1 4SJ. Come and enjoy the wonderful international food on sale by our learners, or pamper yourself with some beauty treatments by our students at a reduced price.
Reading Community Learning Centre (RCLC) helps ethnic minority women and their families living in the Reading area by reaching out and empowering isolated and vulnerable women to grow their skills, confidence and independence. We do this through learning, support, and friendship.
Most of our students are unemployed migrants, refugees or asylum seekers, who speak little or no English and have limited experience outside their home. Some do have formal qualifications, but they often lack the English skills, experience and know-how needed to find a job in the UK.
RCLC aims to enable women to become skilled, confident active citizens and to contribute to society, by providing support services that focus on each woman’s unique needs.
In recognition of the amazing achievements of our women in the centre we would like to invite all women to come along to celebrate RCLC’s Women’s Day, as part of the International Women’s Day celebrations and to raise money for the wonderful work we do. Why not come along for some pampering in our beauty treatment room or enjoy some of our tasty world foods for sale? You can get some information about our work at the same time.
