BFI Film Academy – film making opportunity

Are you aged 16-19 years old and interested in film making? Do you know of someone who would love to learn more about film making and all the different aspects that go into creating a film? You should consider or recommend the BFI Film Academy.

The BFI have opened applications for young people aged 16-19 to take part in a series of sessions at Shepperton and Pinewood Studios. This will allow you to meet industry experts and learn from their stories, whilst also receiving practical experience in camera, sound, lighting, production and more.

This course covers every area of the film making process, it will allow participants to gain an NCFE qualification in ‘Working in the Film Industry’. As well as developing their commercial and cultural knowledge and skills needed to help make a career in film a reality. After completing the course, young people will have the chance to gain support and progress onto a range of ongoing film making opportunities. This could be a great opportunity for a young person who is avid about pursuing a career in this industry.

There are two sessions available:
  • Shepperton Studios, every day from the 28 October to the 1 November 2019 (October Half Term)
  • Pinewood Studios, every Saturday from 11 January to 8 February 2020.
