Become Mental Health Aware – two half-day training sessions on 30 November and 1 December 2020 Via Zoom

This online Mental Health Awareness course is open to anyone currently volunteering with a local group, involved in informal volunteering and/or community action in Reading or anyone considering taking on such a role. The course is offered free of charge.

The two half-day course will run over Monday 30 November and Tuesday 1 December, 1-30-4pm, via Zoom, and aims to raise awareness of mental health. It covers:

  • What mental health is and how to challenge stigma.
  • Basic knowledge of some common mental health issues.
  • An introduction to looking after your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing.
  • Confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue.

Designed by MHFA England and delivered, via Zoom, by an experienced local instructor, those completing this course will receive a manual and workbook as well as a certificate of attendance.

The course is offered free to participants but please be aware that you must be able to attend both sessions.
