On 1 March, we are running a Volunteer Befriender Speed Dating event in which prospective volunteers have the chance to speak to a wide range of local organisations providing befriending and social volunteering opportunities.

The event is short and snappy, taking just 45 minutes for the speed dating (allowing for 15 three-minute conversations) then an hour of more relaxed networking and refreshments. It ensures volunteers really get to know what each organisation has to offer and is encouraged to make a note of which organisations they’d like to be put in touch with and so allows for more likely follow-up than in a traditional volunteering fair setting.

If your organisation offers befriending of any kind, and would like to participate, we are looking for up to 15 organisations to be involved. Representatives can be your existing volunteer befrienders, befriendees, trustees or members of staff.

The event will take place on Wednesday 1 March, 2pm – 4pm at RISC.

Please use the form below to register or contact ready.friends@rva.org.uk / 0118 9372054 if you have any questions about the event.
