Bounce Back 4 Kids (BB4K) is a support programme developed by PACT that uses therapeutic techniques to support children who have been victims or witnesses of domestic abuse. The programme works with the children and their parents or carers to come to terms with experiencing family breakdowns.
The programme consists of children’s support groups run concurrently with support groups for their parents/carers.
BB4K Champions assist the group leader with setting up, facilitating the groups, supporting the children or parents, helping with the activities, tidying up, participating in de-brief and planning for the next session.
We have an expectation that volunteers will be able to commit to the full 10 weeks to avoid disruption of the groups.
The groups will be on Tuesdays on these 10 dates:
- 23 February 23 – session 1
- March 1, 8, 15 and 22 – sessions 2-5
- April 12 and 19 – sessions 6-7
- May 10, 17 and 24 – sessions 8-10.
There is a parents/carers group in the morning and a children’s group in the afternoon and we are looking for volunteers for both groups.
We need the right people from across the PACT area for this role and although the sessions are in Witney, Oxon, we will be able to provide transport to and from the venue from Reading centre.
This is an exceptional experience with a knowledgeable supportive team.
