You can make a difference as a Café Volunteer, working in the new and vibrant café by preparing and serving hot and cold drinks and light meals.

The Weller Centre services are being developed in partnership with local organisations and community groups. We are working to create a healthy, vibrant and thriving community centre that provides a range of services for the community to engage with.

Main tasks:
. Greeting and serving customers in a pleasant and courteous manner.
. Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks/ snacks/light lunches e.g. salads, jacket, potatoes using standard kitchen equipment.
. Ensures seating and serving areas are immaculate all times i.e. clearing and cleaning tables, loading and emptying dish washer, ad hoc washing up, sweeping floors, removing rubbish.
. Basic maths to enable taking payments and recording takings
. Checking stock levels and making up list of items required
. Shopping locally for any urgent requirements
. To adhere to policies and procedures at all times especially with regard to safeguarding vulnerable people.
. To attend induction and training sessions delivered by CHL or another approved provider.

Essential criteria
. Excellent attention to cleanliness
. Ability to work on own or as part of a team
. Being approachable, mindful, non- judgemental and have a great sense of humour.

Desirable criteria
. Any experience in catering would be an advantage
. Creative thinker to suggest new items for men
. Have the ability to engage with all age groups
