We provide a confidential helpline service offering telephone and email support to victims/survivors of rape and sexual abuse aged 18 or above.
Helpline volunteers aim to support victims/survivors of rape and sexual abuse by:
- providing a safe space to talk and share their feelings and needs
- providing information and signposting to other relevant organisations/services
- referring the clients to Trust House Reading’s other services.
No previous helpline experience is necessary as we provide comprehensive training and ongoing support.
We are looking for volunteers with excellent listening and communication skills, who are caring, non-judgmental and reliable. Ideally we ask for a minimum commitment of one year and volunteers must be aged 18 or over.
