Could you be a Peer Support Volunteer?
Support volunteers needed for Berkshire West Your Way in RG1
If you have personal experience of mental health issues and have received peer support training you could help others to move forward in their lives.
You could be involved in:
- socialising with members at our afternoon drop-in
- hosting social meet ups
- accompanying people to appointments
- helping them to keep on track with the goals that they have identified
- helping with our outreach work at Prospect Park
- co-facilitating the Peer Support Course
Peer support has always been at the heart of Reading Your Way’s service and we know from our members that talking to someone who can relate to your experiences makes a huge difference and this is why we train and offer opportunities for peer supporters.
On 2 February between 11am and 3pm we have a Peer Support Open Day at Reading Your Way.
If you would like to find out more about the training, as well as talk to our current Peer Supporters, we would love to see you.
On 26 February 2016 our next four day training course starts.
