Our volunteers support and enable people with a physical disability to take up, or return to, a hobby, interest, sporting activity or learning opportunity which they cannot do without some help or support. This support is mainly about giving confidence, understanding and emotional support to bring colour to our members’ lives.
We are looking for everyday folk who might have a few free hours each week to share an interest with someone with a disability. That hobby you’ve had for years might be just the thing that one of our Members is looking for. You never know – volunteering might actually add some unexpected colour to your life too!

This partially-sighted and talented lady is looking for someone to teach her modern dance so when she goes to weddings, for example, she can feel confident to dance. She cannot join a regular class as the teaching is based on copying the person at the front and she wouldn’t be able to see her well enough.
If you know how to dance would like to share your knowledge and have some fun then this is a great volunteering opportunity for you.
Alternatively she is interested in learning self-defence so if you have those skills please contact us
She is partially sighted but fully mobile. If the volunteer had a car then they may like to go out for coffee and cake after all the exertion of the dance or self-defence classes!
Interests – Writes and performs her own songs, goes to comedy workshops, Arts & Crafts and going out!
Timing – Once a week or fortnight depending on the volunteer’s availability during the day.
General Location – Central Reading
